A Small Art Gallery is very pleased to be able to show the work of three local women artists whose work is full of color.
Annie Alexander presents a summer’s full of new work in paper. Ceiling to floor banners, collages of handmade paper and sheets of flower filled handmade paper. All created from 100% recycled cottons, organic inclusions and US currency. Also available are three encaustic based works with organics and found objects.
Sid Freeman, a calligrapher’s calligrapher, graces the gallery’s wall with full size watercolor and gouache paintings that weave the calligrapher’s intimate relationship to letters with the painter’s eye for image and color. Each painting is a continuing discovery as words and images reveal themselves to our joy and amazement.
Maria Lynam, whom I have always known as a well practiced printmaker, surprises the eye with her ethereal atmospheric mixed media paintings. Colors swirl and textures invite investigation. The large scale does surprisingly well in the intimate spaces of the gallery and change the environment to one of another world view.
